Organizations today are experiencing an unprecedented frequency and intensity of change, reorganization, downsizing, business process improvements, new technology, new strategies, new people, new rules-and there is no let up in sight. However, changes are all too often planned and implemented with little or no thought as to how people will experience them, as well as the myriad other changes going on around them.
When people cannot go through the transition process successfully, the organization will not reach the goals that the changes were designed to achieve. This program has been developed to help everyone in an organization learn how to navigate through the experience and learn personal survival skills needed in these times of constant change. The program also provides the knowledge and skills required to renew people's creativity and commitment so that the organization can implement its change successfully.
Goal:
To increase the participant's ability to manage the transitions caused by change with less disruption and distress in living and working.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this course participants should be able to:
- Describe the critical difference between managing change and facilitating transition
- Assess the effectiveness of the current organizational change plan
- Identify where people are located in the three-phase transition process
- Create and implement effective strategies to:
- Help other manage endings and losses
- Lead others through the neutral zone
- Facilitate wholehearted new beginnings
- Share your preliminary action plan for facilitating the transitions associated with current organizational change
- Move through the neutral zone and capitalize on the creativity of that time
- Develop an action plan for managing a current transition more successfully
